I have been studying a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages in Middlesex University until last June. I followed some of my colleagues’ advice of starting to apply directly to schools early in February and so I did. After more than 17 applications I got 5 interviews but I did not get any job. I have recently moved from Leeds to Essex and initially found it very difficult to find work. As a teacher of a very specialist subject (dance) opportunities are very few and far between.
