Strategy Education are looking for a Academic Skills Advisor to work in an Essex College.
Requirements:
Evaluate the needs of students requiring support with literacy, numeracy and language skills and be able to help them plan for assignments and revision etc
Develop and agree learning objectives and plans with students
Manage the learning of students so that they achieve their objectives
Develop and maintain support materials and resources
Monitor the referral and progression of individual students via personal tutors, lecturing staff
Attend team meetings and play a full role in the Learner Services team
Attend staff training as required
Support regular audits of all academic support provided in Academic Faculties
You must have degree level education, be able to take notes, have effective mathematical and literacy skills. Experience in relevant IT programmes etc.
You will need to be able to advise team members and learners
The role will be to work 25 hours per week for up to a 6 week duration.
